Instrumental tuition at Notley High School is available to all students. We offer lessons on the following instruments:
Piano, Keyboard, Drums, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar and all orchestral instruments. We also offer singing lessons and music theory.
Each term will consist of 10 x 15min lessons and all are individual. Lessons may be extended to 30mins at an additional cost. Each students will be issued with a practice diary in which tutors will record the work to be completed and will make weekly comments on progress. At the end of each term students will receive an Instrumental Report detailing overall progress and targets for improvement.
Students will need to have their own instrument. For those who do not have an instrument to learn on, please contact me for details of any current hire schemes.
The Essex Music Service currently runs a voucher scheme to help offset the cost of music tuition to families who receive Income Support and other forms of credit. More information can be found on the reverse of this letter. Should you have any questions regarding the scheme, please feel free to contact me.
The school currently offers a reduced cost to year 7 students to enable more students the opportunity to learn an instrument in school
For those students studying GCSE Music, a 15 minute lesson per week will be provided free of charge. Students may choose an instrument of their choice. At a subsidised cost of we can also increase the length of lesson to 30 minutes, should you wish to do this, or provide tuition on a second instrument for 15 minutes per week
