Achieving examination success at school has never been more important for our young people than it is today. All that we do at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is therefore geared to our primary aim that each and every student, irrespective of ability, should fulfil their academic potential.
In recent years, the school's GCSE results have shown a sustained improvement. Moreover, we have been particularly pleased by the excellent performances of many individual students in relation to their academic ability.
Students will achieve success when their teachers have high expectations of them and when they are well taught in a stimulating and challenging manner. At the school we also place particular emphasis on the traditional values of civilised behaviour, courtesy to all and a smart appearance.
The school has a diverse and vigorous programme of extra-curricular events. Participation in these activities enables students to develop a wider range of interests and acquire essential personal skills which they will need in their future career. All the evidence shows that employers and colleges value the extra dimension which such activities promote. Moreover, involvement in extra-curricular opportunities tends to enhance academic achievement.
I am proud of the school's recent achievements and am very confident about its future success. I do hope interested parents and carers will take the opportunity of visiting the school and seeing for themselves the high quality of education we can offer their child.
