Coach and View - Thursday 8th 5/7/2010

Your son/daughter has been selected to attend the Coach and View session at Essex Cricket Club on Thursday 8th July. The Minibus will be leaving school at 9:20 so pupils will be expected to attend registration. The pupils do have to wear school uniform, but they should dress appropriately for the weather and the activity.

D of E Silver Award - Welcome Letter 30/6/2010

Your son/daughter has chosen to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Silver level.  Registration is £13; please make cheques payable to Notley High School.  The cost of completing the Award will vary from one participant to another, depending on the activities they choose.  However one of the group’s targets will be to fundraise monies for themselves.

Year 8 Student Guides 23/6/2010

Over the next year, pupils in Year 8 will be given the opportunity to take on the responsibility of acting as guides to visitors to the school and also to carry out a range of other tasks outside the normal lesson structure.

World Cup 2010 Wednesday 23 June 2010 17/6/2010

After much consideration we have decided to close the school 15 minutes early on Wednesday 23 June 2010.  This is to allow students and staff who wish to support England in this important final qualifying game the opportunity to watch the game on various large screens around the school.  We will shorten the 20 minute afternoon slot with Tutors by 15 minutes so that our decision does not impact on lesson time. All students will be free to leave school at 2.55 pm and buses and taxis have been ordered for this time. Please read the attached letter for details.

Year 9 & 10 Cricket Trip 10/6/2010

We are organising a trip for Year 9 & 10 pupils to attend a ‘Coach and View’ cricket session at Essex County Cricket Ground. The pupils will be taken by Minibus to the ground and attend a two hour coaching session lead by Essex coaching staff.

GCSE Drama Public Performance. 28/4/2010

As I am sure you are aware your son/ daughter is currently working on creating a performance for the final section of their Drama GCSE.  This performance will be shown to an external examiner on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th May 2010.  In preparation for this performance, the Drama Department would like to invite you to attend a Public Performance of this work that will be shown on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th May 2010 in the Drama Studio.

Year 10 trip to Thorpe Park 27/4/2010

As a school we like to give students the opportunity to experience time with students and staff outside of the normal curriculum. It is with pleasure that we have arranged a Year 10 trip to Thorpe Park.

Saturday Revision Sessions for Science 19/4/2010

We are holding revision sessions for Science subjects on the above dates from 9.30am until 12.00am on each of the Saturdays.  These sessions are voluntary but we would strongly advise your son or daughter to attend to give them the best opportunity in the forthcoming exams.

Activities Week 31/3/2010

The school is running an Activities Week from Monday 10 May 2010 - Friday 14 May 2010.  During this week students will be following a different timetable.  The normal school rules, uniform and procedures will still apply and the week will be very different in terms of the curriculum that students receive.

Kew Gardens - Year 7 30/3/2010

The Mathematics Department at Notley High School is delighted to be able to offer our high achieving Year 7 pupils the opportunity to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew on Friday 23rd April 2010.

Disneyland Paris 10/3/2010

As a school we like to give students the opportunity to experience time with students and staff outside of the normal curriculum. It is with pleasure that we have arranged a Year 9 day trip to Disneyland Paris.

Sport Relief - Consent Letter 9/3/2010

We are hosting ‘The Notley High School Sport Relief Challenge’ on Friday 19th March. Pupils are invited to take part in the event by running, walking, cycling, rowing, skate boarding or roller skating for 1 mile.

Football/Netball Development Tour - Payment Plan 9/3/2010

I have pleasure in informing you that all the paperwork has been completed for the afore mentioned trip and we are now able to confirm that your child has been allocated a place on the Football and Netball Tour to Spain.

Important information about our school 5/3/2010

The governors of our school are considering changing the status of the school from a Community School to a Foundation School, so that the school can join an educational trust. By joining an educational trust this will enable our school to work better with other schools and colleges to bring new courses, apprenticeships and educational opportunities for our students.
