Jack Petchey Achievement Award – Winners

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the prizes for January, February and March can be awarded this month.  Having checked with the Jack Petchey Foundation, only one student per month can receive an award and as three students were involved in a charitable act, they have to be awarded a month each. The Jack Petchey Foundation is happy for this to happen.


RSPCA Donation

OAP Christmas party

Every year Mrs. Shipton and the year 8’s organise a Christmas party for elderly people from the local area. 

Jack Petchey Achievement Award – November

We are pleased to announce that this month’s winner of the prestigious Jack Petchey Achievement Award is Charly Hutchinson of 11H. Charly is a member of the Army Cadet Force here in Braintree and as part of a 150 year celebration, the Force is sending 60 people from the UK to go to the Kingdom of Lesotho in South Africa. Charly is one of the 60 taking part; one of three from Essex chosen from two hundred applicants.


Non-Uniform Day – Friday 5 February: Unicef

This year Unicef’s campaign is called ‘Day for Change 2010’ and focuses on changing lives for children in Mozambique by improving their health and education.  So, if you’re not going to wear uniform on Friday 5 February, please bring in £1 for the privilege and help make the lives of these children better.


Green voice needs your help!

Art Masterclass

A helicopter, hundreds of banners, screaming staff, excited students and a really surreal afternoon… This week school was off for the afternoon as X factor finalist (and ex Notley student) Olly Murs and his mentor Simon Cowell visited Notley High. 

Not in my Neighbourhood

A group of year 7 pupils recently got involved with ‘Not in my Neighborhood’ week. The week focuses on hate crime, litter, anti social behavior, criminal damage and so on. Working alongside PCSO Jo Ashford, Community Wardens Tony Lynch and Jackie Windard, the Year 7’s went around the local area to perform a litter pick.
