February 2014 Jack Petchey Winner
Verity Fisher year 11 was nominated by one of her teachers for inspiring their younger peers and becoming positive role models to all. She, with another student; Henry, ran drama club for year 7 students every week and directed a performance for the members of the public to watch.
It was evident that all the students really benefitted from this and all grew in confidence, made new friends and extended their voice and performance skills to a higher level. Verity grew in confidence and skill as she directed this group of students every week, with students listening carefully to her instruction.  Both Verity and Henry organised the performance, the theatre and costumes and invitation for people to come and watch. Miss Auston, the drama teacher was left with very little to do!  Verity really did go above and beyond what would have been expected of her and still managed to fit in time for their school work and Miss Auston in particular is very proud of Verity‚Äôs commitment, focus and enthusiasm to raising standards.

Verity gave her money to the Drama department which has been put towards buying a better lighting desk that more students can use.
