GCSE Results

Students and staff at Notley High School were celebrating the school’s highest ever GCSE results this morning.

Seventy (70) per cent of students at the school achieved five or more GCSE passes at grades A* - C, the headline figure used in the national school performance tables, with ninety five (95) per cent achieving five or more A* - G grades.

The school’s achievement on the new performance measure of five or more A* - C passes including English and mathematics also rose to forty eight (48) per cent.

Everyone at the school is absolutely delighted with these excellent examination results. We always knew this year group were capable of surpassing our previous highest GCSE performance and we had told them that repeatedly! I offer my congratulations to them for achieving the results we know they deserve and wish them all every success in the future.

Teachers and support staff have, once again, worked tirelessly to help our students achieve so much and I thank them for their tremendous contribution to the school. I would also wish to thank all the parents of last year’s Year 11 students for supporting their children through the examinations and the governors of the school for their advice and support.

These results confirm our national recognition, acknowledged by the Department for Education and Skills and Ofsted, as a high performing specialist school offering an outstanding curriculum to all our students.
