Every year, Notley High School takes part in a regional language competition called “Have Your Say”.

Students who are doing well in languages are chosen to enter the competition, which caters for Year Sevens to Year Tens, and for both French and Spanish. Notley has had a high success rate in the competition, even up against private and grammar schools.

The semi-finals this year took place in The Gilberd School in March, where many schools in the region went head-to-head to battle for a place in the final. All schools worked tremendously well, and performed their scripts with true flare. It was such a delight to witness so many students dedicated to learning, and everybody truly tried their best.

Four pairs from Notley made it through to the finals which took place on Wednesday 12th May. Adam Davey, who came 3rd overall in Year 9 French said: “It was great to see the passion for languages that was evident in all of the students in the competition.”  We are very proud of the students’ achievements in Have Your Say, and we look forward to great things from next year’s competition. Au revoir!
