Paralympian Visits Notley
Paralympian Talan Skeels-Piggins inspired year 10 and 11 students when he visited Notley on Friday 30th November 2012. His emotional and heart warming story took students and staff alike on a journey from his motorbike accident, resulting in paralysis from the chest down, to his gold medal achievement. His humorous manner and candidness allowed the audience to appreciate the challenges he has faced over the past 10 years and the positive metal attitude he displays and promotes.
His message of 'have a dream, adopt a positive mental attitude and apply yourself' have had a huge impact on those who listened to him.

Braintree Sixth Form Open Evening
The Sixth Form Open Evening was busier than ever this year, as we welcomed Year 11 students from across the district. A programme of musical and theatrical performances by our students contributed to a lively and enjoyable evening. Subject staff and students were available to provide advice about our IB and A-level courses. The Science area proved not to be for the squeamish as Biology AS students demonstrated dissection techniques. Student Governors Annabelle Spencer and Shaun Whiteley and the Chair of the Student Council, Harry Williams, addressed a packed theatre, along with members of the Sixth Form Leadership Team.
Applications for 2013/14 are now open and the online form can be accessed via the Sixth Form website.
