    Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme

Duke of Edinburgh's Award SchemeThe Duke of Edinburgh Programme is a life-changing experience which thousands of young people take part in each year. The programme is open to students from age 14, year 9. It contains three progressive levels which lead to a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

There are four sections to complete at bronze and silver level and five at gold. They involve volunteering, a physical aspect, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition and, for Gold only, working with a team on a residential activity.

The award offers students an opportunity to have fun, make friends, improve their self-esteem, and build confidence. It also gives students the opportunity to gain essential skills for life and work and enhances CVs, college, and university applications.
