One of the aims of the sixth form Personal Development programme is that students should know how to be 'enterprising in life and work' and we begin this in the Autumn Term for Year 12 with an enterprise challenge for the whole year group: to form a mini-business and seek to make a profit by holding an Enterprise Fair.

Students were given a short window of planning time to form business teams within their tutor groups, and had the opportunity to apply for a £10 loan from the school to support them in starting out. Our Year 7 and 8 students were the target audience for the Enterprise Fair, and their teachers brought them across to the sixth form on Tuesday morning so that they could enjoy what was on offer, which included hot chocolate, Super Mario, crafts, homemade bakes, sweets and lucky dips, with lots of festive fun. Year 12 had worked hard to prepare for the fair, and their efforts were much appreciated by those attending. We also had the added excitement of the BBC Look East crew filming during the fair, which added something a bit different to the proceedings!

Students were asked to donate 50% of their profits to the chosen sixth form charity, United World Schools, although many teams have already chosen to donate 100% of their profit. The deadline for handing in funds and loan repayments is Tuesday 10 December, and so we will update the website with the total raised for charity in due course.
