On Thursday 2nd February, approximately 64 Year 5 and 6 Primary School students from 4 different schools came up to Notley High School to take part in a Sportshall Athletics competition.

 

The competition consisted of 10 events for boys and 10 events for girls with scores being combined at the end to determine an overall winner.

2 lap race (2 competitors) boys

6 lap race (1 competitor) girls
8 lap Paarlauf (2 competitors)
Speed Bounce (2 competitors) boys
Standing Long Jump (2 competitors)
6 lap race (1 competitor) boys
8 lap Paarlauf (2 competitors)
Speed Bounce (2 competitors) girls
Standing Long Jump (2 competitors)

4 x 2 lap relay (4 competitors for each) girls then boys  
Each competitor in a team was only allowed to compete in a maximum of 3 track events and 2 field events.

Year 10 students from Notley High School took on the responsibility of officiating the competition by recording results and timing races.

Overall, it was an extremely successful event enjoyed by staff, students and parents with John Ray Juniors running out eventual winners with a points total of 105.
