Leah Riley, Heidi Ellis of 8Y and Emily Davis of 8E rallied round and organised three weeks of fundraising for two charities - Cancer Research and Motor Neurone Disease.  Using their own initiative they collected money during assemblies, lunch times and afternoon registrations, but the biggest money-maker was the Race for Life day they planned.

This was held on Wednesday 3 March during lunch time when Year 8 students and others ran, jogged or walked round the school playing field, many in fancy dress.  The three girls then spent every day collecting sponsorship money.  The total raised by these girls is an amazing £628 which they are going to equally share between two charities – Breast Cancer and Motor Neurone Disease.

The girls will be nominated for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award for their outstanding charity work.  Well done girls!
