On Monday 18 March 2019, six members of Parks 3 visited Essex Dementia Care in Braintree. Essex Dementia Care is a charity that runs sessions for people with dementia for entertainment, friendship and support. Everyone at the charity was very kind and welcoming and we had the chance to talk to some of the carers and the people that they help.
Nominated by a member of staff: Maisie has been nominated for her passion and dedication to cooking. Maisie has been participating in and out of school in a food competition called Future Chef and reached third place in the National Finals which took place on Saturday 16 March 2019. Maisie is one of the youngest contestants to be competing at this level.
On Wednesday 6 March 2019 and Friday 8 March 2019, a total of 56 students took part in a Jack Petchey Speak Out workshop. The workshop was run by Fiona Whytehead of The Speaker’s Trust and she guided our students through a series of games and activities designed to improve their confidence and their ability to speak out in public.
Nominated by a member of staff: Sid recently went to Australia to take part in the International Scout Jamboree and was away for 3 weeks, leaving on Boxing Day.
On Thursday 28 February 2019, the school once again became host to the visiting Colchester Food Roadshow, where our Year 10 Food students witnessed chef Martin Fordham demonstrate some of the more complex skills needed to deliver high quality dishes to restaurant customers. This is what some of our students had to say about the experience:-

During the February 2019 half term, we were lucky to have the opportunity to work with and visit Real Madrid FC. The 49 students that we took with us all had a fantastic time, along with the 5 staff that accompanied them.

The GCSE Geography to Walton on the Naze has now been rescheduled to Wednesday 27 March 2019.
Students should arrive at school before 8.15am as the coach will be leaving at 8.30am.
